Joseph K. Robinson is the founder of Robinson Immigration Law and advises founders, talented individuals, investors, and businesses on U.S. immigration processes.

Joseph is a U.S. immigration attorney and the founder of Robinson Immigration Law. He represents founders, executives, researchers, creatives, and investors seeking to build long-term careers and enterprises in the United States.

He has experienced the U.S. immigration system first hand, helping his wife immigrate from Portugal and become a U.S. citizen. He lived and studied abroad on a student visa in Germany and is in the process of obtaining Portuguese citizenship, so he understands the promises and difficulties of navigating complex immigration laws.

Joseph’s practice centers on complex, strategy-driven matters, including extraordinary ability petitions, national interest waivers, entrepreneur and executive visa planning, and investment-based immigration. He regularly advises clients whose backgrounds require careful positioning, long-range planning, and an understanding of how individual visa classifications fit into broader professional and personal objectives.

He approaches immigration as a long-term strategic decision rather than a purely procedural exercise, with an emphasis on credibility, timing, and future optionality. His work often involves helping globally mobile professionals navigate tradeoffs between different immigration pathways while aligning legal strategy with business growth, research agendas, or investment plans.
