Ghenwa Hakim

Attorney Ghenwa Hakim has been practicing U.S. immigration law since 2001, concentrating primarily in business immigration. She has extensive experience working with both individuals, institutions, and private companies in a variety of sectors including healthcare, higher education, and biotech. Ghenwa was born in Lebanon and is a native Arabic speaker. Ghenwa is currently admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and the New York Bar. She holds a Bachelor’s in International Relations from Boston University, a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, and Master of Public Health from Tufts University.

Ghenwa is a U.S. immigration attorney with more than fifteen years of experience advising international students, researchers, physicians, professors, and other highly accomplished professionals on employment-based immigration matters with extensive expertise in working with the healthcare, higher education and biotechnology sectors. Over the course of her career, she has successfully handled hundreds of extraordinary ability, executive, and other employment-based immigration matters, including O-1, L-1, EB-1, and National Interest Waiver petitions, and has represented clients through several Requests for Evidence, J-1 waivers, and related matters. Her aim is to achieve positive immigration outcomes while aligning immigration benefits and strategy with each client’s personal and professional goals.  Ghenwa represents both corporate and individual clients in a broad range of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters, including extraordinary ability petitions, national interest waivers, outstanding professor and researcher petitions, treaty visas, specialty occupation petitions, and permanent residence applications.

Before joining Robinson Immigration Law, Ghenwa served in senior immigration attorney roles at prominent law firms in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition to representing clients, she has developed educational resources for employers and foreign nationals, and given immigration presentations to employers, university students and faculty, and healthcare professionals.

Prior to her work in private practice, Ghenwa worked in senior immigration leadership roles at a prestigious college in Massachusetts where she oversaw the case work of hundreds of international students and faculty, and also led international business initiatives and collaborations with universities abroad. Ghenwa  has served as adjunct faculty and taught courses in law and migration, and U.S. immigration law.
